“Doing Business with the Chinese at the Dining Table” – A Unique Learning Experience

The ASEAN Legal Alliance (ALA) conducted an engaging session titled “Doing Business with the Chinese at the Dining Table” for a group of finance and legal professionals. This experiential and hands-on session offered participants a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural nuances of doing business with Chinese counterparts, particularly in a dining setting.

During the session, participants had the chance to taste traditional beverages such as baijiu, yellow wine, and red wine, while practicing the art of toasting over dinner – an essential component of Chinese business etiquette. The interactive nature of the session provided valuable insights into the importance of relationship-building, respect, and the role of dining culture in Chinese business practices.
